New 750 points list

Heya playaz,

just tested a new 750 points list. Coteaz is the cheap, but sexy version of the Librarian, 65 points less, 3 attacks, 3 wounds, mc daemonhammer, but only 2 psychic powers from the new deck, no invulnerable save. Played against a friend today. The psyfle dread nuked the predator in two round. 10 man Grey Knight strike squad with psybolt ammo roxx and the rhino is a great addition. Solid list and I think there is not much room.

Round 3! Fight!

Sers players,

It's gonna be another hot day, but I managed to get up early to play against Reepy's Necron during the cool morning. The paladins in my first list did not help as much as I thought. They are tough, like to eat wounds and spank, but I only have two troop choice, which is pretty thin and gives me less option depending on the mission. Grey Knight in general have few models and in a 750 points range, which make things more difficult. This is the new list I tried today, which is more solid in my opinion. Reepy got the new terrain laid out and it was seen in action for the first time. I took the Divination tree, prescience, foreboding and forewarning, again foreboding did not see any action. The libi and the terminators joined forces. Mission: defending objective, I got three and Reepy two. Missed the warlord traits, ah why bother. We built up a blockade in the center and cut off other routes with dangerous terrain, which is not that scary, for me at least. Dread got eaten by squishy scarabs in turn two, stupid junk. Reepy's 4 inch teleport failed big time and I placed those immortals into dangerous terrain next to my terminators. Hellooo beautiful! He tried to took and flame 'em, nine wounds, nine saves. Meh liky. His annihilation barge did BBQ one of my Grey Knights. My turn. 7 killed warriors, 1-2 got resurrected, I charge onto the dangerous terrain, all dead, I mean the Necrons. HQ and the harbinger got resurrected, hmpf. They port the next turn and capture my objective in my deployment zone. I chase them with my libi squad and two terminators get BBQed, one with the psycannon too. They port again... Strike squad taking them down again and only the HQ wishes to return for some spanking. The justicar strikes him down with his force helbard, again. First blood and the dread for Reepy. HQ and the warriors for me. Draw. Nice game, like the +2 save, who doesn't. Was a lot of fun.

Next weeks special: Chaos Daemons on a stick.

Some things I have learned the hard way:
1. Take the assault 2 instead of the heavy 4 and keep the psycannon covered by other squad members. Same counts for the Strike Squad Justicar. Positioning is much more important, due first come first wound.
2. My Libi needs a  center position to provide the support to the psycannons or the dread. With precognition he can fight up front.
3. Dread needs to be in the back and live till turn 4-5. Not that tanky as he looks like.

Battle lost and won!

Sers players,

did not have the time to write a summery of my first game with my Grey Knights from last week's Saturday. First game was against Reepy's Tyranids and it was a bloody butchery. Took the new psychic powers from the Divination Tree. Primasis power is always good to return a power and also a good choice in general. We chose warlords traits and I got Master of Manoeuvre, which was pretty useless in a 750 pts game. Reepy hat life leech and other stuff that regenerates wounds... Nothing heroic, my whole army was raised to the ground. The Hive Tyrant alone cleaned a Grey Knight strike squad by flying over them and leveled my paladins for dessert. Nom nom. Should I have killed him first, naah don't bother. Dread down, stupid junk.

Second game, Nemo's first game ever, he played Necron against my Grey Knights. Again Divination, precogntion, forboding and prescience and strategic genius as warlord trait, again pretty useless. In comparison to the Grey Knight psychic powers, the new deck provides really nice buffs and makes your librarian a great supporter. Standard or codex powers have trouble beating those. Playing the libi in the center of your army will provide other troops with nice buffs, re-roll your heavy psycannon or assault cannon from you dread rocks, which I didn't. The mission, capture and hold four points. Since we both were a bit clumsy, we had lots of bad moves and random luck from rules we both did not know, we ended up having a fun game. Take the shortcut? Not today let's go around and see what's on the other side. His stalker and annihilation barge got owned by the librarian's daemonhammer. The stalker was close to one objective and I placed my libi and the paladins to interrupt the capture and be locked in combat at the end of turn six. The daemonhammer disagreed and decided the stalker must go. Dread killed too, stupid junk. I drew first blood and captured two points, negated one of his capture points, which provided me a solid jump ahead and won the game.

Buckle up Grey Knights!

Hail the Emperor,

just finished 95% of grey knight army, last coat of paint and we are ready to rock and load. The librarian body is still missing lots of details and I will be hanging out with him for a while. The finecast has pretty decent details, but not matching the Grey Knight librarian. What I did is chop off his shoulder pad to get the cool book for one of the terminator arms I have left, added some shinies and boom done.
Tomorrow morning I will have a 750 point match up against a friend of mine, Tyranids. My second game ever and first game in the new 6th edition. Got the basics, but still much to learn. Going for the daemonhammer first to give it a try and hopefully in the second game, I might see the halberd in action.

Everything is magnetized for switching on the fly. We will see if this is worth the effort.

750 points - Grey Knights

100 Grey Knight Strike Squad
10 Psycannon
5 Halberd for the Justicar

About the Dreadnought, I am not so sure, if he is the best choice, due the 185 point, but we will see tomorrow, if he can spank the Tyranids. Did see some nice stuff with the Grandmaster. He and some other dues are already on the wish list.

After the match I try to get a short battle report and some photos.
